I had the absolute joy of seeing Eternal Love: The Musical at the beautiful Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle, and I can honestly say—it was one of the best nights I’ve had in a long time. I laughed, I clapped and I left the theatre completely in awe. This show is everything you could want in a night out: charming, entertaining, and totally unforgettable.
Steve Steinman's Eternal Love is part of the Vampire's Rock Trilogy, you don't need to see the others as this acts as a standalone musical. We joined Steinman on this hilarious fantasy musical which sees Vampire Baron searching for his eternal love and take on a new bride.
First of all, let’s talk about the Tyne Theatre itself. If you haven’t been, it’s one of Newcastle’s true gems. The atmosphere is so grand yet cosy, and it adds an extra layer of magic to the experience. Watching Eternal Love in such a stunning venue really elevated the entire night.
Now onto the show: from the moment the curtain rose, I was hooked. The visuals were gorgeous, the music was filled with original songs, and the cast—wow. Every performance was packed with energy and charisma. But one of the biggest highlights? The comedy.
The show knows exactly how to balance heartfelt moments with clever, laugh-out-loud humour. There were so many scenes where the cast broke the fourth wall and involved the audience—it was genuinely hilarious and made the whole experience feel so fun and interactive. Everyone around me was laughing, clapping, and totally loving it. That kind of energy is infectious and made the performance feel even more special. You could tell the cast were having fun, and that joy spread through the audience like wildfire.
I’ve already recommended Eternal Love to my friends, and I’ll say it here too: if you get the chance to see it—GO. Whether you’re a musical theatre lover or just looking for a great night out in Newcastle, this is the show to see. It’s fun, it’s charming, and it’ll leave you smiling long after the final bow.
